Snowbound Blues

From December 2-4, join us in snowy Rochester, New York for a blues dancing exchange that's sure to keep you warm!

Celebrating our 5 year anniversary

When Steve Losh, Cynthia Hunt, Katy Elder and I began this in 2012 we did not dream that SnowBound Blues would be the staple of the Blues Dance community that it has become. Now in our fifth year Lady Luck Blues Organization has grown to a mighty team of six dancers ( Katy Elder, Randy Zingo, Cindy Hunt, Amelia O'Leary, Keith Saturn, and Joy Arico) that have planned together with the help of Jody Glanzer to bring you SnowBound Blues 2016. We are deeply thankful for your love support and attendance over the last 4 years. We feel the love.

Three nights of live music

Friday night we will kick things off with Rochester's most respected blues artist and a throwback to our original 2012 team. The Joe Beard Blues Band can be found playing all over Rochester, but is also the once a month headliner at Rochester's own Dinosaur BBQ. Saturday night we will bring you the sound of one of Rochester's premier jazz musicians performing upright bass with a band he assembled specifically for blues dancers, the incredible Danny Zeimann and his All Stars. Keeping with our theme of showing the best music Rochester has to offer, Genesee Johnny will be playing a tribute night to Son House on Sunday. There is also the chance of other great Rochester artists jumping in and rocking our world.

Workshops with 10 amazing instructors

On Saturday, you will be challenged by three levels of classes; Gold level auditions will be held immediately before classes start. You'll get five hours of classes and intensives from our core teaching team: Julie Brown with Tim O'Neill, Joy Arico with Forrest Rogers-Marcovitz and John Krieger-Joven, and Mimi Baril with Randy Panté. Then it's Sunday Funday with a full day of Electives and Solo classes, adding Flouer Evelyn, Laura Chieko, and Olivia Hilmer to the team. For those whose idea of fun is working even harder, a small Invitational Masters Intensive track will run Sunday, with students chosen during the Saturday classes. No matter your level or learning style, get ready to beef up your Blues!
