FormatIn the Preliminaries All qualified competitors wear a bib number with a number representative of their chosen dance role for the competition for 3 hours of social dancing. Dance with as many partners as possible. You are not supposed to know who is judging. Have Fun! For the Finals, 6 leads and 6 follows will be selected and partnered randomly. You will be judged as a partnership as you dance All skate 6 couples on the floor to first song. Then spotlight 2 couples at a time to 2 songs pre-selected by our DJ. You will be tapped in when it is your opportunity to do the two couple spotlight. Then a 4th song will be played in which all 6 couples are on the floor together for a final All Skate.
Who can enterAll dancers that do not qualify for the All Star Strictly. Because dancers are judging the opposite role- secret judges in preliminaries can also be competitors.
JudgesThis contest is judged by 30 social dance ninjas of all levels (15 judging leads and 15 judging follows) who may or may not be wearing a contest number. The judges will be revealed at the end of the competition.
CriteriaBlues Aesthetic, Connection, Musicality, Dance Etiquette, Quality of Movement and Overall Enjoy-ability in Preliminaries judged as Yes, No or Maybe. Finals use same criteria-Ranked.
Fee$10.00 per competitor
WhenPreliminaries-During the Social Dancing Friday, December 2nd, from 10 pm-1 am. Finals-Saturday, December 3rd when the band finishes between 1:00 am and 1:30 am

FormatAll qualified competitors wear a bib number for the competition. In preliminaries, all competitors will go on the floor together and will dance All Skate to 3 songs selected by our DJ in which the judges will record yes, no or maybe for each competitor. Final Round will be to two songs of live music and will be All Skate, Spotlight, Spotlight, All Skate.
Who can enterThis contest is open to all dancers not teaching at Snow Bound Blues 2016.

All Star Strictly

FormatSeveral songs will be pre-selected by the DJ and drawn from a hat. Each couple will dance for 90 seconds, followed by an All Skate.
Who can enterQualifiers for All Star at Snow Bound Blues have either instructed at Blues Blaze 2009, 2010, 2011, Snow Bound Blues 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, or 2016 or Placed 1st in a qualifying competition within the last 3 years. Qualifying partnered blues competitions from 2014 to present include highest level competitions: Austin Blues Party, BluesSHOUT!, Blues Muse, BamBLOOZled, Enter The Blues, Mile High Blues, Nocturne Blues, Rose City Blues, Rain City Blues, Snow Bound Blues, Sweet Molasses Blues, Steel City Blues, and Winter Blues.
JudgesThis contest is judged by the competitors. Peer reviewed ranking of 1-6 of all couples other than themselves.
